Success is not waiting for you

You know the phrase destiny awaits?

Yeah, that’s a lie.

There’s not some divine power that is holding out for you, waiting to hand you the keys to your dream life while you meander your way through life.

Destiny is made, not given.

The last several days have been challenging to me because of the circumstances around my laptop and having to default to an iPad for my work. It works well enough, but it’s cumbersome, and since I don’t have my laptop, I’m missing out on a ton of files, apps, and resources that would make my life easier.

While this is going on, I’m trying to plan my world domination through the various projects I’m invested in, but I’m operating with limited capacity.

My wife has heard me exclaim to myself multiple times “What is going on?” Multiple times to myself because of how much operating on the iPad is different than the laptop. Even this post is taking me at least 30% longer than if I was working on it on the laptop.

I could continue to feel sorry for myself and not work on my projects because of how frustrating the process is right now, but that doesn’t help me, doesn’t help my family, and it definitely isn’t helping you.

I may not be able to do all the things I want right now, but there are things I can do to help move the needle forward even if it’s not as far as I want to move. Any movement is better than no movement.

Our goals and dreams are not going to wait for us to show up for ourselves. Circumstances and obstacle are opportunities to learn and improve and I need to remind myself of that going forward.

That said, I really hope I get my computer back soon!
