What happens when a side hustle works better than the main hustle?

I’m not supposed to be thinking of new projects, but I can’t stop myself

I absolutely love The Hungry and I know it’s a project that will take a long time to grow, mostly because I need to help shift the paradigm of the starving artist mentality. That’s a marathon idea for certain.

In my downtime, I spend a lot of time studying new ways to grow. Sometimes in the process of doing research, new ideas hit me. Most of them are not good, or at least not good enough to turn my attention away from The Hungry.

Today I was chatting with a friend and an idea hit me with such power, I realized it might be too good to pass on. Here’s the thing—I won’t ever talk about it except as the secret project because it’s not something I want to share.

If I do put some energy into this idea, I want it to live in a completely independent space untainted by anything I’m doing now.

Cryptic. Mysterious. Borderline scandalous.

I don’t know if I’ll even do anything about it, but considering it’s the first new idea I’ve shared here that doesn’t apply to this blog or The Hungry, it’s fair to say I’m taking it a little serious.

In the meantime, I still don’t have my computer back, but obviously it hasn’t stopped me from writing. Slowed me down a lot, but can’t make me quit.

If you missed it, the latest edition of The Hungry is live.

Also, Julie and I released a new episode of Not as Interesting as We Think.

Enjoy your weekend.
